The Recon is a commonly-deployed unit that can handle most infantry on its own. In Battalion Wars, the Recon was split into two subcategories, Light and Heavy. The Light Recon utilized higher speeds, but the Heavy Recon was equipped with stronger armor and a player-controlled machine gun. The Recon of Battalion Wars 2 combines these aspects of the two units.
