Campaign

Campaign mode comprises a major component of the single player experience in the Wars series, the other being exhibition challenge modes like the War Room. In it, players take command of specific COs and armies to combat others in a variety of scenarios linked by a common plot.

Advance Wars

The Advance Wars Campaign mode consists of 22 possible missions with some variation depending on CO choices made throughout having an impact on the availability of later missions and the usable COs for the final battle.

Advance Wars features a "hard mode" to its normal Campaign which is accessible after being unlocked and purchased in the Battle Maps shop.

The Advance Wars 2 Campaign mode consists of 34 possible missions with less variation depending on player choices; finishing the Yellow Comet section allows its COs to be used in the final Blue Moon mission, and this entry introduces Lab missions for unlocking additional units for Campaign use. It is not necessary to complete every single mission to complete the Campaign.

Like the previous game, there is a Hard Campaign which is accessible after being unlocked and purchased in the Battle Maps shop.
