Dreadnought

From Wars Wiki

The Dreadnought is the strongest naval unit in the Battalion Wars universe. Heavily armored and armed to the teeth, this ship can destroy all ground units and even most naval units with ease. The best way to eliminate an enemy Dreadnought is with a manual Battleship, a Submarine, or an air unit. The ship is slow enough that prolonged anti-ship combat will sink it, and cannot target-lock a submerged Sub; and while it has anti-air fire, Gunship or Bomber attack is still sufficient to take it out. It is best to keep the Dreadnought near an escort of Frigates, as these ships can silence both submerged and airborne threats.

Western Frontier[edit | edit source]

"During their lengthy ceasefire, the Frontier/Tundra arms race saw both sides developing increasingly-sophisticated naval deterrents. Bristling with armaments, the Leviathan-class Dreadnought is the pride of the Frontier navy."

Tundran Territories[edit | edit source]

"The TTS Potemkin is one of the few Gargant-class Dreadnoughts serving in the Tundran fleet and sports three 12-inch naval cannons. During the Frontier conflict, the Potemkin was identified by a distinctive red flag unique to the vessel."

Solar Empire[edit | edit source]

"The Type-200 Qoo-Jilla uses hydrodynamic propulsor engines, intended to make the vehicle silent to enemy Submarines. Unfortunately, Admiral A-Qira's insistence on fitting three plasma-fueled turbo accelerators resulted in reduced maneuverability in his prototype."

Anglo Isles[edit | edit source]

The Anglo Isles have not developed this unit.

Xylvania[edit | edit source]

"The Kraken-klass Dreadnought employs three modified Sarkol naval cannons with an increased 400mm caliber. Curiously, in spite of the Dreadnought's substantial mass and titanium-tipped prow, the vessel is relatively ineffective when used to ram other naval units."

Iron Legion[edit | edit source]

The Iron Legion has not developed this unit.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Anglo Isles do not have a Dreadnought, despite the fact that its real-world counterpart, the United Kingdom, was the country which coined the term 'dreadnought' with the HMS Dreadnought.
  • The Tundran Dreadnought is called the TTS Potemkin. The Potemkin was a real Russian battleship whose crew mutinied in 1905. This event is often credited as being a step toward the Russian Revolution of 1917.
