Hawke is a Commanding Officer in the Black Hole army. He is introduced in Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, and is first seen in the introduction of the campaign.

Role

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Hawke is a new Black Hole CO in Advance Wars 2, and is supposedly the second-in-command. He leads the invasion of Green Earth, and disappears when it is liberated. He shows up after the last battle, where he kills Sturm and seizes power, thereby saving the commanders from the other nations.

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Hawke is relegated to normal CO status after power in the Black Hole army has been seized by Von Bolt. He questions the motives the Bolt Guard has and is eventually branded a traitor by Von Bolt, forcing him to switch allegiance to the Allied Nations, from which point onward he is a usable CO. After decisively defeating Von Bolt, Hawke disappears yet again.

Personality

In Advance Wars 2, Hawke is only interested in his power and how far it would bring him; however, in Advance Wars: Dual Strike, it is shown that he has a different side as he is responsible for the restoration of the land. Considering the events of Advance Wars: Dual Strike, it is likely that this represents a subtle change of heart.

Relationships

Flak enjoys a somewhat predictable relationship with Hawke; as long as Hawke gives Flak enough stuff to blow up, the former has no problems with him.

Adder, on the other is reluctant to be around Hawke, getting uncomfortable; this may partially result from Hawke visiting Adder while he's under a great deal of stress, but Adder is also seen as hesitating to follow Hawke after the latter eliminates Sturm.

Lash is one of the COs Hawke is able to get along with fine; this is evident in Advance Wars: Dual Strike, where the two are seen to be outcasts in the new Black Hole military.

Eagle hates Hawke, as the latter is responsible for the invasion of his homeland. Even when the two are on the same side in Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Eagle is seen to dislike Hawke when he sees him.

Hawke sees Andy as a rival as seen in the Hard Campaign mission Sea for All; he wants to challenge him presumably because the former also has healing abilities.

Jake and Hawke also have a somewhat noteworthy relationship, as the former saved the latter from a near-death situation in Muck Amok. In the final mission, Hawke even states how he wished he met Jake before.

Skills

Hawke is proficient with all units, having a small advantage in firepower. He has the largest power bar excluding Sturm and Von Bolt.
