The Nintendo DS, sometimes abbreviated as the DS is a seventh generation double screened Nintendo handheld system and is the successor to the Game Boy Advance. Released on November 21, 2004 in Japan and North America, two Nintendo Wars games were released for it, both part of the Advance Wars series. Many redesigns for the Nintendo DS were released, those being the Nintendo DS Lite, Nintendo DSi, and the Nintendo DSi XL. It was succeeded by the Nintendo 3DS in early 2011.
