— Sensei -

Sensei is a Commanding Officer enlisted in the Yellow Comet army. Making his first appearance in Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, Sensei is an elder CO who taught Kanbei all he knows about strategy. He is a retired paratrooper and is experienced with helicopters; his Battle Copter attack is increased and his Transport Copters can move one extra space per turn. His CO Powers further increase the attack of this battle copters and drop Infantry (or Mech, for the Super CO Power) units with 9 HP on every allied city.

Role[edit | edit source]

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising[edit | edit source]

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike[edit | edit source]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Despite the fear or respect that Sensei may have caused during his fighting days, he seems to be very humble about it. Whenever someone refers to Sensei as Yellow Comet's unbeatable CO, he simply accepts it as a light compliment. As an elderly man, Sensei despises conflict, preferring to spend his days lounging. However, if any of Sensei's close friends are threatened, he will somewhat reluctantly take up arms. Despite this, Sensei also tends to reminisce memories of war and can enjoy some good action every once in a while. He is a very calm teacher, having taught Kanbei himself. However, he cannot stand it when others are not patient enough to take his advice, such as Adder. Sensei believes that anyone willing to listen to an "old man rambling" has the potential to become a great leader. It is known that Sensei can dislike younger COs who think that Sensei's old age will give them an easy win, as seen in many of his quotes. Sensei has the most sour relationship with Adder, as he has targeted Yellow Comet, used unfair combat, insulted Sensei for his age, and disregarded all of Sensei's advice.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

Skills[edit | edit source]

Sensei specializes in B-Copters and spamming foot soldiers with his powers.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising[edit | edit source]

  • Day-to-Day (D2D): Sensei's foot soldier units have 140% firepower, his B-Copters 150% firepower, and his transport units +1 movement. However, he is weak with other ground units and naval units; those have 90% firepower.
  • CO Meter:
  • CO Power: Copter Command — Sensei's B-Copter firepower is increased to 175%. Infantry with 9 HP appear in each unoccupied owned city, starting from the NW (until the unit cap is reached). (Standard +10% defense.)
  • Super CO Power: Airborne Assault — Sensei's B-Copter firepower is increased to 175%. Mech with 9 HP appear in each unoccupied owned city, starting from the NW (until the unit cap is reached). (Standard +10% defense.)

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike[edit | edit source]

  • Day-to-Day (D2D): Sensei's foot soldier units have 110% firepower, his B-Copters 150% firepower, and his transport units +1 movement. However, he is weak with naval units; those have 90% firepower.
  • CO Meter:
  • CO Power: Copter Command — Sensei's B-Copter firepower is increased to 170(+10)%. Infantry with 9 HP appear in each unoccupied owned city, starting from the NW (until the unit cap is reached). (Standard +10% firepower and defense.)
