Von Bolt is the leader of Black Hole COs in Advance Wars: Dual Strike. In addition to the other Black Hole COs, three new officers, Kindle, Koal, and Jugger, are introduced as his most trusted minions, the Bolt Guard.

Role

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Von Bolt is an extremely elderly man from the country, confined to a wheelchair and surviving only due to the use of a life support system. He views himself as successor to Sturm, and takes control of the Black Hole forces. Internal strife between the Black Hole COs eventually leads him to turn on Hawke and Lash, sending his prized Oozium to eliminate them. His plan fails, and the two pair up with the Allied Nations in order to help take out Von Bolt and his Bolt Guard.

Personality

Von Bolt is a deranged, power-hungry old man, who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

Relationships

Von Bolt wants nothing more than to drain Omega Land of its energy and use it to extend his lifespan. Needless to say, this does not go over well with the Allied Nations, leaving the old man with only his loyal Bolt Guard by his side. His attack power drops to 90% when paired with any Orange Star, Blue Moon, Green Earth, or Yellow Comet CO.

Skills

Von Bolt boasts increased stats and is able to disable a group of units for a day.

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike

• Day-to-Day (D2D): Von Bolt's units have 110% firepower and defence.
• CO Meter:
• CO Power: None
• Super CO Power: Ex Machina — Deals 3 HP damage to the units affected and disables them for a day. (Standard +10% firepower and defense.)

Ex Machina Mechanics

Ex Machina damages allies and enemies alike, leaving at least 0.1 HP. Unlike Meteor Strike, it does not have to center on a unit. All units within a 2-tile radius of the target are affected. Fog of War rules are also abided by.
