Wars (series)

From Wars Wiki
(Redirected from Wars series)

The Wars series is a loose series of games made up of various small sub-series.

Games[edit | edit source]

Famicom Wars[edit | edit source]

The Famicom Wars series consists of two games involving the battles between the members of Allied Nations. Both games are released on Famicom Disk Systems (Famicom and Super Famicom)/Nintendo Entertainment Systems (NES and SNES). In Japan, the Battalion Wars series is considered to be part of the Famicom Wars series.

Game Boy Wars[edit | edit source]

The Game Boy Wars series consists of four games involving the conflict between Red Star and White Moon.

Advance Wars[edit | edit source]

The Advance Wars series consists of four games split into two smaller stories, one involving the Allied Nations against Black Hole, and the other involving 12th Battalion against Intelligence Defense Systems and its customers Lazurian Army, and New Rubinelle Army.

Battalion Wars[edit | edit source]

The Battalion Wars series consists of two games. The first sees Xylvania in pursuit of global conquest, and tricks the Tundran Territories into launching a pre-emptive attack on the Western Frontier. Xylvania plays the true antagonist in the second game, luring the Anglo Isles to attack the Solar Empire based on rumors of a super-weapon.

In Japan the Battalion Wars series is considered to be part of the Famicom Wars series.

Cancelled games[edit | edit source]

A game called 64 Wars was in development by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo 64 and was planned to be released in 1999, but was cancelled. A 2D map was used for troop movement, while the action was shown with 3D cutscenes. Connectivity was planned with Game Boy Wars 2.

A game entitled Knight Wars, known internally as Castle Wars, was intended to be a medieval spin-off of the Battalion Wars series. Citing poor sales of Battalion Wars 2, the game was never completed.
