— Mission introduction

Flak Attack is the fourth mission of the Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising Campaign, though it is not obligatory. The player acts as Max for the second time. One of the cities, when captured, will surrender a map leading to a Black Hole Laboratory. Securing the map unlocks the Test of Time mission.

Background[edit | edit source]

A Black Hole soldier informs Flak that troop deployment has been completed, just as he notices that he is facing Max again. The soldier tries to warn his superior about using troops for a personal grudge, but Flak doesn't let him finish, confident that he will win.

Sami warns Max about the attack, as she notices it is an air assault. He tells Sami to leave the battle to him, though does not mind her giving tactical advice. In the meantime, Flak is told that he is not authorized to use Bombers or Fighters, but continues to use them as they were not in use before.

After the battle, Max tells Sami that his troops eat battles like this for breakfast. Nell arrives as Flak leaves, at which point Max tells her she is right on time for the celebrations.
