Missile Silos are a special terrain found on certain maps. They can be used to damage enemy units at a distance.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Missile silos give three terrain stars prior to Advance Wars: Days of Ruin and two terrain stars in Days of Ruin.

Missile silos are activated by an Infantry, Mech or Motorbike unit. The missile they fire has a 5x5 square diamond shape and does 3HP of damage to any unit caught in the blast - it doesn't distinguish between ally or enemy. Each silo can only be used once.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, Lash's ground units get a 30% attack boost on a missile silo. In Advance Wars: Dual Strike, this is reduced to 15%.

Appearances[edit | edit source]

Advance Wars: Dual Strike[edit | edit source]

In the Crystal Calamity mission from Advance Wars: Dual Strike, the missile silos in the terrain are specifically designed to seek and destroy satellites and are part of the anti-satellite defence system.[1] These silos are necessary to destroy the Black Onyx; however, in order to successfully do so, the Allied Nations must use all nine missile silos scattered throughout the battlefield and thus not let them fall into enemy hands. Once all nine missile silos are used, they will effectively obliterate the Onyx and drop the shield being projected onto the Black Obelisk.
