I think that table works better than the one I created anyway, and we could always have the user do the unit type link manually, like type=[[Infantry]]? I definitely think we should use this one instead of mine; that grey background and border is great! ~FireFly ^t_c 15:49, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

I think you should add something in the lines of "| || colspan="6" style="background: #EFEFEF" | Land" for each "group" of unit (e.g. Land, Water, Air). The problem with that is that it breaks sorting, but maybe we don't even need sortable on the unit tables? By the way, I'll try and get sprites for those other units now, looks strange when half of the files are missing. ~FireFly ^t_c 16:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Also, I think we should keep the system with header/entry/footer templates, since you may want to create a list of units for some other page, and not always the whole set of units for a given game, but the idea with game separate units would be good too (if that was what you meant by {{AW units}}. Also, forgive me for forgetting that the wiki is not only about Advance Wars; they're the only games of the Wars series I've played. Perhaps the way these lists are structured don't fit at all with Battalion Wars? ~FireFly ^t_c 16:42, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Good point. Actually, by {{AW units}}, I just meant the whole thing, but it would be easier to break it down if you're only concerned with smaller groups of units. That's okay, I'm sort of the opposite of you; I've played both Battalion Wars games recently, and it's been longer since I fired up my Advance Wars - I guess that means we'll be able to complement each other's work. With you working on the Advance Wars games, and me working on Battalion Wars, we should be able to cover all the info we need. — ^KC 17:29, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

I think I was a bit unclear with what I meant. I think having both broken-down parts of the table, as well as {{AW units}}, {{AW2 units}} and so on, so that it's easy to use both if you want all units of a game, or just stitch your own set of units together (for some reason, like a list of vehicular units or something). I think we should rename the parameters a bit, I think "name" and "type" would work better, since, well, each entry is about a unit anyway, so "unit-" is kind of implied, and I think it's more of a unit type rather than a terrain type. Not a problem, I was just thinking about renaming them a little. Actually, I hadn't considered that some units have two weapons. Maybe it should be the primary weapon range...? Then again, we could split the Attack Range column into two, one for primary weapon, one for secondary. — ^KC 21:38, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
