Ed

Ed is a Commanding Officer in Advance Wars: Dark Conflict from Laurentia, and a member of Independent Legion.

He is called Will in the American release (Advance Wars: Days of Ruin) and エド (Edo Ed) in the Japanese release (Famicom Wars DS: Ushinauwareta Hikari)

Role

Will is the main character in Days of Run. He starts off as a recruit in a Laurentian military academy and was the only survivor when the meteors fell. He was found at the same time by Drakov's bandits and the Independant Legion. O'Brian drove The Beast's forces away and rescued Ed. He was also introduced to Lin.

On a mission with O'Brian, he investigated some ruins and found an amnesiac girl. The girl couldn't remember her name but knew many facts about the militaries of Laurentia and Zephyria. Ed named her Catleia after the synthetic catleia flower that Lin had given her.

Ed, along with the rest of the Legion, soon found themselves moving on from mere skirmishes with Drakov's bandits to an outright war with Zephyria alongside the New Laurentian Army. However, O'Brian sided with the Zephyrians after Sigismundo executed Zephyrian prisoners-of-war, including their leader Carter.

After O'Brian gave his life to assist the legion in escaping, Ed entered a slump but was given hope by Catleia. Lin then appointed him as the head of the Legion, believing that the civillians travelling with the Legion would react better to someone like Ed than a harderned military leader like herself. During his leadership, Ed and the Legion faced not only Sigismundo's New Laurentian Army but also forces from Intelligent Defence Systems.

Ed stepped down as the Legion's leader temporarily when Stolos captured Catleia and snuck on board the Pulsatrix with the help of Cyrus. Here he met up with Lin and the Independant Legion again, who fought off units controlled by Lili. Though all the people on board the Pulsatrix appeared to be killed when it crashed, they all escaped and helped Zadia and Trak in their battle against Larissa. Ed assumed control of the Legion one last time in their assault on Stolos' base of operations, The Owl's Nest.

Personality

Ed was somewhat naive with a never-ending sense of hope. He also had great admiration and respect for O'Brian.

Relationships

Ed greatly admired O'Brian and saw him as a mentor, along with Lin. He was also close to Catleia. The two may be romantically involved.

However, Ed dispised Stolos, Greyfield and Finn for their actions. Despite being enemies, Larissa seemed to flirt with Ed and treat him like her servant during the in-game tactics sessions.

Skills

CO Zone: All direct-combat ground units in the CO Zone get an additional 20% attack. Radius: 2.

CO Power: New Era: All direct-combat ground units get +2 spaces added to their mobility. This power is called Rally Cry in Days of Ruin.
