This article is an official policy on Wars Wiki.

Its contents are binding and should be considered law.

The goal of Wars Wiki's userspace policy is to encourage the constructive editing of our articles. By registering an account on Wars Wiki, you are agreeing to help contribute to the mainspace to the best of your ability, and to abide by this policy when editing. Each user is free to personalize their userpage, but should avoid letting this become a common occurrence. Our aim is to expand the wiki, not build our own social networking site.

Background[edit source]

Wars Wiki is meant to be an informational encyclopedia. Despite this, our editors each have their own userspace which they may personalize with any content they please (within reason).

Content[edit source]

Despite the fact that this wiki focuses on war-related games, it is possible for children to visit the site as well as adults. For this reason, no offensive material will be tolerated. Anything deemed inappropriate will be deleted as well. If you believe that your content was removed unreasonably, contact an administrator to plead your case.

Users are permitted to have up to five (5) personal images on their page. Images uploaded in this manner do not need to necessarily apply to the Wars franchise. These images must be appropriate for all ages and people, so please do not upload anything offensive or shocking. Users exceeding five personal images will be asked to delete or repurpose images on their page, at the risk of deletion from an Administrator.

Warnings[edit source]

An editor's main focus should be the mainspace articles, not the userspace. Warnings will be issued to any user that edits their userspace excessively, which generally means making multiple edits to the same userpage in a short period of time. Assuming good faith, the first warning given will instruct the user to refrain from editing the userspace as much, and remind them to make good use of the preview button. If a user disregards the first warning, they will receive a second, then a third. If they ignore the third warning, they will be blocked for a period of time dependent on the content added during the time that the warnings were issued.

Other users' pages[edit source]

Userpages are personal pages, and should not be edited by anyone else unless permission has been granted by the page's owner. However, there are instances where editing another user's page(s) is permitted. These include, but are not limited to, removing broken links that appear on the wanted pages, uncategorizing a userpage from an unsuitable category, and reverting vandalism. Minor things like spelling mistakes should be left untouched, as these do not interfere with the running of the wiki and do not provide an accurate history of a page.

Recap[edit source]

Wars Wiki is glad to attract new users, however, not all users have the best intentions. This is an encyclopedia, not a social networking site. If you are only here to waste time on a userpage, find a site like Facebook. If you want to help make Wars Wiki the most comprehensive Nintendo Wars resource around, then forget about the userspace and dive in! Other users are happy to help if you have any questions.
