Andy

Andy is a Commanding Officer enlisted in the Orange Star army. He is considered to be the franchise mascot, fufilling the protagonist role in both the original Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2.

He is called リョウ (Ryou Ryo) in the Japanese editions of the games.

Role

In Advance Wars

Andy, along with Sami and Max, travel through Cosmo Land in search of why other nations are hostile to Orange Star. When it is discovered that the attacks were launched by a clone Andy, each country temporarily join forces to drive Black Hole out of Cosmo Land. During the final confrontation with Sturm, Andy leads the Orange Star Forces.

In Advance Wars 2

Still a young and somewhat naive mechanic, Andy continues to work with fellow commanders Sami and Max to liberate Orange Star. Like Sami, Andy also offers aid to foreign nations later into the campaign and can be selected to command an army during the invasion of Black Hole.

In Advance Wars Dual Strike

Andy makes no formal appearance in Advance Wars DS. However, he is cloned and utilized against the Allied Nations during the Omega Land war. Upon completion of the campaign, he is available for use in the Hard Campaign.

Personality

Andy is a bold and somewhat impulsive commander, always prepared for battle. Over the course of the series, he is often portrayed to be dim, due to his inquiries on easy subject matters. He maintains a rivalry with Eagle and maintains good relations with other Orange Star CO's.

Relationships

Andy has no deep relationships with other characters. He backs up both Sami and Max, while acting as a student to Nell. As mentioned, he also holds a rivalry with Eagle.

Skills

Andy is a mechanic that is proficent with land, sea, and air units. His CO Powers primarily repair Hit Points.
