Tank Ops is the sixth mission of the Advance Wars Field Training.
Background
Before the missions starts Nell tells you an entire company doing recon in the Coral Lagoon area has been lost. As it is surrounded by mountains, it is not likely there are many enemy units present; even so, the entire company is gone. As Orange Star can't afford to lose that territory it is up to the player to find out what has gone wrong and to defeat the Blue Moon forces present there.
To Nell's surprise Olaf has been able to lay his hands on some Medium Tanks, and she's unsure if you can win the battle with your current units. Even so, she will leave the battle entirely up to you at this point with nothing more than some general hints.
After obtaining victory Nell is convinced that tactics aren't enough to win more battles and that central command has to send them some Medium Tanks as well; Olaf is angry at losing his Medium Tanks at first, but soon notices that Orange Star doesn't have any ready and states he will enjoy the next battle.

Strategy
Day by Day strategy:
Day 1: Move Tank 4E 2S and attack enemy Tank from the north. Load southern Mech into APC. Move APC 5E 1S and drop Mech west. Move remaining Mech 1S 1E. Move Artillery 1N 4E. Move all Infantry 3S.
Day 2: Attack enemy Artillery with Artillery. Move APC 1N 4W. Load northern Mech onto APC. Destroy enemy Artillery with Mech from the north. Move Tank 1N and attack enemy Tank from the west. Move northwestern and northeastern Infantry 1S 2E. Move remaining Infantry 2S 1E and capture city.
Day 3: Finish capturing all cities. Move APC 4E and drop Mech east. Move Tank 1N 4W. Move remaining Mech 1E and attack enemy Tank from the east. Move Artillery 1E. Move eastern Infantry 1N 1E. Move remaining Infantry 2E.
Day 4: Destroy enemy Tank with western Mech from the east. Move remaining Mech 1S and attack enemy Mech from the east. Attack western enemy Infantry with Artillery. Move northern Infantry 2E and destroy enemy Infantry from the north. Move northern Infantry 2E and attack enemy Infantry from the west. Move remaining Infantry 2E 1N.
Day 5: Attack enemy Infantry with Artillery. Destroy enemy Infantry with western Mech from the north. Destroy enemy Mech with remaining Mech from the north. Move northern Infantry 1S 1E and capture city. Move northern Infantry 1S 2E and capture city. Move remaining Infantry 2E.
Day 6: Finish capturing northern city. Continue to capture southern city. Move eastern Mech 1S. Move Tank 3E 2S. Move Artillery 3W. Move remaining Mech 2S. Move remaining Infantry 1E 1S. Move APC 1W 3S.
Day 7: Finish capturing city. Move southeastern Infantry 1N 2E. Move northern Infantry 2S and attack enemy Mech from the west. Move southwestern Infantry 1N and Load it into the APC. Move Tank 2S 4E. Move APC 5E 1S and drop Infantry south. Move Artillery 4E 1S. Move northern Mech 2E. Move remaining Mech 1N 1E.
Day 8: Move south Infantry 2E and capture city. Move eastern Infantry 2E 1S and Load it into the APC. Move APC 1S and drop Infantry east. Move northern Infantry 1S 1E and attack enemy Mech from the east. Move Tank 1N 2W. Move west Infantry 1N 2E. Move eastern Mech 1E 1S. Move remaining Mech 2E. Move Artillery 3E 2S.
Day 9: Finish capturing city. Begin to capture city with eastern Infantry. Move northernmost Mech 2N. Move southernmost Infantry 3E. Move remaining Mech 1S. Move Artillery 1E. Move remaining Infantry 1E and capture city. Move APC 3E 1N. Move Tank 2E 1N.
Day 10: Finish capturing southern city. Continue to capture northern city. Move Tank 3E 3N and Wait. Move Artillery 2E 3N. Move northern Infantry 3N. Move remaining Infantry 1E 1N and Load it into the APC. Move APC 2N and drop Infantry north. Move northern Mech 1E 1N. Move remaining Mech 2N.
Day 11: Finish capturing city. Attack Medium Tank with Artillery. Move Tank 6S. Move northwestern Infantry 2N 1E and Wait. Move southern Mech 2N. Capture HQ with northern Infantry.
Day 12: Finish capturing HQ with Infantry.
