Revision as of 18:39, 30 July 2024 by Nabbit12 (talk | contribs) (Added more in terms of unit deployment and gameplay effects. If anyone has a list for all the Factory unit deployments, it would be very good if those were added here.)

This article is about the Black Hole installation. For the property sometimes referred to as a factory, see Base.

This article is a stub. You can help Wars Wiki by expanding it.

A Factory is a Lash invention which allowed unrestricted unit construction for Black Hole. They only appeared in Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising[edit | edit source]

Factories were the final installations that the Allied Nations had to destroy in the Macro Land conflict. Each CO in charge of leading an invasion had one. Factories also processed resources that Black Hole had stolen and sent it to Sturm's main headquarters. Flak's factory was assaulted by Orange Star in Liberation. Orange Star assisted Blue Moon in destroying Lash's factory in Factory Blues and helped Yellow Comet in destroying Adder's factory in The Hunt's End. Depending on whether Factory Blues or The Hunt's End was finished first, a Blue Moon CO could be used in place of Orange Star in The Hunt's End, or a Yellow Comet CO could be used in place of Orange Star in Factory Blues. Later, Orange Star and Yellow Comet assisted Green Earth in shutting down Hawke's factory in Great Sea Battle.

Gameplay[edit | edit source]

Factories are completely impassable (even after destruction) and give no terrain stars. They cover twelve squares in a 3x4 rectangle. Factories are immune to all forms of damage, including Missile Silos and CO Powers, but can be made useless by attacking the nearest seam in the pipeline leading up to the Factory.

Factories are capable of creating up to three units at the start of each turn on a 1x3 area in front of the Factory. Units spawned from Factories do not cost the Black Hole COs any funds; they are also capable of moving and firing immediately upon construction. Factories can only deploy units on normally traversable terrain (i.e. a Factory cannot construct a Tank on a Sea tile). All Factories have a set deployment order in terms of what units are produced and when. This pattern continues until Day 32 from which the cycle begins repeating itself indefinitely. This deployment cycle varies for each Factory and also differs between the normal and Hard Campaign. If a unit is unable to be produced due to another unit blocking its intended spawn point, it will not be made. The Factory's deployment cycle remains unaffected.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Each unit produced from a Factory is given a randomly assigned AI behavior.
  • Units produced from a Factory count towards the enemy's number of total units produced, and thus will affect the player's Power ranking.
