Max (Japanese: マックス Makkusu; Max) is a direct combat specialist enlisted in the Orange Star army. He is a confrontational Commanding Officer who plays a prominent role in the campaign. If selected, he debuts in the fourth mission of Advance Wars.
Notably, he is one of the few characters to have the same name in every language edition of the games, along with Hachi, Rachel, Sasha and Lin.
Role
Max is a loyal companion to both Andy and Sami. In stark contrast to both Nell and Sami, Max is aggressive and can be considered the brawn out of the three. Like his colleagues, he is available for use during the final push against Sturm in both Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2.

Day-to-Day (D2D) All non-infantry direct combat units have +50% firepower when attacking. However, indirect-combat units suffer from a -10% firepower and Template:Defense penalty, as well as -1 range.
CO Power Max Force All non-infantry direct combat units their firepower raised to 174% for the day. They, along with transports units also benefit from +1 movement and receive the typical 10% Template:Defense boost. Other units also receive a 10% increase in both attack and Template:Defense.
