Volcano

Volcanoes are large mountains that spew hot magma. They appear in two missions, one in Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising and one in Advance Wars: Dual Strike.

In-depth

Volcanoes are completely impassable and give no terrain stars. They cover sixteen squares, in a 4x4 square. They launch globs of magma in a set pattern once each day. Any units hit by the magma suffer 5HP of damage.

The first volcano is seen in the Black Hole Rising mission Rain of Fire. In a desperate attempt to weaken Green Earth's army, Hawke instigates a conflict around a volcano in Macro Land. Although Eagle initially answers to the call, Jess goes instead, pointing out that the irregular air currents around the volcano mean that his air force isn't able to go anywhere near it. Eagle is seemingly annoyed by this, but accepts her logic and lets her go - he doesn't regret it.

In Dual Strike, the Allied Nations fight Black Hole at a pair of volcanoes called the Twin Crown volcanoes in a two-fronted battle. Each volcano was once extinct, but the Bolt Guard had managed to make them active again via some cities around them. The cities around one volcano powered the other. On the main front, Koal was commanding with a clone of Kanbei protecting the second front's volcano.
