Jess (Japanese: ハンナ Hannah) is a Commanding Officer enlisted in the Green Earth army. A master of vehicular combat, all of her vehicle units have increased range and attack power. She is a new CO from Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising.

Role

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Jess appears in the Green Earth Campaign. In her first mission she attacked a group of Lash's Battleships while they were in the middle of maintenance. While this was happening she secured a map leading to a Black Hole Lab, setting the events of Danger x9 into motion.

In Rain of Fire she faced Hawke's units at the foot of a volcano, which was too far inland for Drake to be of use and the Air Force rendered useless by the air currents around the volcano. This was not a coincidence - Hawke intended to use the volcano to damage Green Earth's units and render the Air Force useless while he took over the area, despite Flak's concerns.

Jess is also a usable CO in Danger x9, Great Sea Battle, Hot Pursuit and Final Front.

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike

Jess arrives in Omega Land along with Javier in the mission Verdant Hills, which they use as a field test for the new Megatank unit. The rest of the Allied Nations COs defeat them and the Green Flash duo join them. Jess befriends fellow tank commander Jake during the game and is a playable CO for the rest of the campaign.

Personality

Jess is a gallant tank-driving officer who excels at analyzing the battlefield and is usually level-headed even in the heat of battle.

Relationships

Jess is noted to often argue with Eagle, the former at one point calling the latter a "glorified flyboy" when he proposes to try out the Neotank, and the latter derisively referring to the former as "Red" (at least in the original Black Hole Rising script). Drake serves as the mediator between the two, and provides his assistance and concern for either CO however and whenever he can.

Out of every Orange Star CO, Jess seems to respect and work well with Jake, both CO's sharing an affinity for tanks. When paired, they both boast a unique Tag Power together, and even compliment each other's skill after battle.

Jess is an expert at handling ground vehicles. She can supply all units with her powers.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

• Day-to-Day (D2D): Jess's ground vehicle units have 110% firepower. All other units, including foot soldiers, have 90% firepower.
• CO Meter:
• CO Power: Turbo Charge — Jess supplies all her units. Her ground vehicles gain 1 movement and their firepower rises to 130%. (Standard +10% defense.)
• Super CO Power: Overdrive — Jess supplies all her units. Her ground vehicles gain 2 movement and their firepower rises to 150%. (Standard +10% defense.)

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike

• Day-to-Day (D2D): Jess's ground vehicle units have 120% firepower. Her air and naval units have 90% firepower.
• CO Meter:
• CO Power: Turbo Charge — Jess supplies all her units. Her ground vehicles gain 1 movement and their firepower rises to 140(+10)%. (Standard +10% firepower and defense.)
• Super CO Power: Overdrive — Jess supplies all her units. Her ground vehicles gain 2 movement and their firepower rises to 160(+10)%. (Standard +10% firepower and defense.)
