Sami, known as Tami in Germany, is a Commanding Officer from Orange Star. She is one of the first COs introduced in the series, and made her debut in the eighth mission of Advance Wars.

Role

In Advance Wars

Sami primarily acts as backup to Andy and Max, participating in missions that focus on capturing enemy territory. Completing a series of missions with her in Green Earth unlocks Eagle during the final battle against Black Hole.

In Advance Wars 2

She returns in Advance Wars 2, fighting alongside Andy and Max again to help liberate Orange Star. Later on in the campaign, she offers supplies, intel, and reinforcements to both Yellow Comet and Green Earth. She can be selected to command forces during the final missions of each nation, as well as the battles in Black Hole.

In Advance Wars Dual Strike

Sami arrives in Omega Land late into the war, along with Grit, Eagle, and Sonja. The party offers reinforcements from Macro Land to fight the Bolt Guard. From this point on, she can be selected to fight in any mission.

Personality

Sami is friendly towards most people, although she can be very dangerous when upset. She also has great respect for her superiors.

Relationships

Orange Star COs

Sami is the brain of the Orange Star forces, while Nell acts as mediator between Sami's careful planning and the impulsive Andy and Max.

Eagle

Sami's relationship with Eagle started off badly, with her declaring him an unfit CO due to his "attack first, ask questions later" mentality. However, she recognized that Eagle was not truly a bad person. This later developed into a mutual trust and, after Eagle saved her from Adder's forces in Macro Land, a full romance.

Sonja

Sami was Sonja's rival during their school days. Both went to the same acadamy and developed a fierce rivalry. The two stayed as rivals throughout their life, although on more friendly terms.

Skills

Sami is a graduate of special-forces training, giving Infantry and Mech units extra firepower when under her command. Her CO Powers enhance this boost, as well as their movement range.

In Advance Wars 1

• Day-to-day: Sami's soldier units have 20% more firepower, 10% more defence and capture at 1.5 times the normal rate. Her transport units have one extra movement space. Her other direct-combat units have 10% less firepower.
• CO Power: Double Time: Sami's soldier units get one extra movement space and their movement is unhindered by terrain. Standard CO Power boost for all units.
• CO Meter: 25 000G.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

• Day-to-day: Sami's infantry and mech units have 30% more firepower and capture at 1.5 times the normal rate. Her transport units have one extra movement space. Her other direct-combat units have 10% less firepower.
• CO Power: Double Time: Sami's footsoldiers get one extra movement space and their attack and defence raised to 150/110. All other units get 110% defence.
• Super CO Power: Victory March: Sami's footsoldiers get two extra movement spaces and can capture any property in a single turn. Their attack and defence is raised to 180/110. All other units get 110% defence.

In Advance Wars: Dual Strike

• Day-to-day: Sami's infantry and mech units have 20% more firepower and capture at 1.5 times the normal rate. Her other direct-combat units have 10% less firepower.
• CO Power: Double Time: Sami's footsoldiers get one extra movement space and their attack and defence raised to 160/110. All other direct units become 100/110, and indirects become 110/110.
• Super CO Power: Victory March: Sami's footsoldiers get two extra movement spaces and can capture any property in a single turn. Their attack and defence is raised to 190/110. All other direct units become 100/110, and indirects become 110/110.
