Eagle (Japanese: イーグル Iiguru; Eagle) is a Commanding Officer from Green Earth. He is the third opponent of Advance Wars, debuting in the third Campaign mission: Air Ace!.

He as known as Águila in the Spanish versions of the games. Notably, although his name keeps the same meaning in every language, he does not use the exact same name (unlike Max, Hachi, Rachel, Sasha, or Lin).

Role

In Advance Wars

Eagle is tricked by Sturm's clone of Andy into attacking Orange Star and fights them multiple times throughout Cosmo Land, much to Drake's chagrin. When the façade was exposed by Sonja and Grit, he teamed up Orange Star to fight the Andy clone. Depending on how the player advanced through the campaign, he later showed up to lend assistance in defeating Sturm, then fight Andy in a battle where they settled their rivalry once and for all.

In Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Eagle and Drake returned in the second game along with new CO Jess. He was the chosen CO for Sea Fortress where he fought against Hawke's large anti-air divisions and destroyed a Fortress, and for To the Rescue! where he assisted some Orange Star forces led by Sami that were being besieged by Adder.

In Advance Wars Dual Strike

Eagle arrives in Omega Land late into the war, along with Sami, Grit, and Sonja. The party offers reinforcements from Macro Land to fight the Bolt Guard. From this point on, he can be selected to fight in any mission.

Personality

Eagle is brash and proud of his air force, which he often touts as being the best in the world. He has a clearly softer side which usually comes out around his girlfriend, Sami.

Relationships

Eagle's most notable relationship is that with Sami, which started off badly. Due to his tendancy to act before thinking, Sami declared him to be an unfit CO, making him apologise for his brash behaviour. Sami recognised that he wasn't all bad, though, and offered to help protect Eagle when he lent assistance in fighting Andy's clone, which he turned down. He later helped to fight off Adder's forces, as noted above. Since then, the two seem to have become an item.

Eagle has a rivalry with Andy which although is on friendly terms, started off as a fully-fledged mutual hatred - Eagle blamed Andy for invading Green Earth, while Andy hated Eagle for consistantly harassing him. When the truth about the circumstances of the Cosmo Land war came out, the two became much more friendly with each other.

Eagle also gets on well with Drake since their strengths and weaknesses complementing each other and their ability to rely on each other to fight battles that the other one would struggle at.

His relationship with Jess seems slightly antagonistic, but the two generally get along well.

Although his father is never seen, Eagle joined Green Earth's air force to honour his father, which suggests he holds a large amount of respect for his father.

Oddly, Eagle has a poor tag affinity with Lash, despite the fact that neither of them met prior to the Omega Land war.

Skills

Eagle's an amazingly skilled pilot who dislikes swimming, which is reflected in his abilities.
