— Commander Pierce ("Their Finest Hour")

Commander Pierce is an officer of the Anglo military, and one of the protagonists of Battalion Wars 2.

Background

When Anglo intelligence alleges that the Solar Empire is in possession of a super-weapon, Pierce isn't as convinced as Colonel Windsor is, and is less enthusiastic about invading the Solar islands. However, Windsor persuades him to lead the air force in the first strike of the ensuing war.

In Battalion Wars

This officer did not appear in Battalion Wars.

In Battalion Wars 2

It is Pierce's superior, Colonel Windsor who is responsible for the pre-emptive strike against the Solar Empire, believing that Anglo military intelligence is second to none. What his intelligence program did not know was that it was merely a false rumor started by Kaiser Vlad, hoping to distract the world with war so that he could search the Tundran Territories for the real Staff of Qa-Len. After realizing this, and defeating the Solar counterattack, the Anglo Isles joined the re-formed Alliance of Nations to pursue Vlad and the Xylvanians. As the Allies finally destroy the Mining Spider, Pierce shoots down Kaiser Vlad's Air Transport, forcing him and Ubel to climb down into the fissure to avoid capture. As the Spider falls apart, Brigadier Betty is caught in a vulnerable position near the machine, but Pierce, being the capable fighter pilot that he is, recues her and is able to fly the two to safety without injury.

Trivia

  • Pierce mentions running through the streets of Lower Thatchford as a boy, which implies that he grew up in the region where the mission "Their Finest Hour" is set.
  • Pierce appears to be the head of the Anglo air force, and is also adept at leading ground troops. However, he appears to have little to no knowledge of naval warfare.
