The Sword of the Kaiser is a weapon in the Battalion Wars series.

History

The sword can first be seen 200 years ago wielded by Lord Ferrok, leader of the Iron Legion. It is not given much importance at this point, and is not seen very often.

Present Day

In the present day, the sword belongs to Kaiser Vlad of Xylvania. It is not mentioned until a cutscene in the first game, in which he and Countess Ingrid are discussing the current war. Ingrid wants Vlad to use the sword to awaken the ancient Legion forces at the Crater of the Sun and seek revenge against the Allied invaders, but he scolds her, telling her that the Legion cannot be controlled.

Some time later, the Countess is getting desperate, wanting to see the Alliance of Nations defeated and to restore Xylvania's honor. She steals the sword and travels with Kommandant Ubel to the Cenotaph. After scaling the monument, Ingrid holds the sword up to the sky, which triggers the reanimation of the stone-clad Legion soldiers. Seemingly possessed by the Legion's collective spirit, the Countess orders her forces to attack all nearby forces, Allied and Xylvanian alike.

Trivia

  • However, because the Iron Lord is the first known ruler of Old Xylvania, it may be a family heirloom, as well.
