Usage

Neotanks are incredibly powerful ground direct combat vehicles. They are statistically superior to Medium Tanks in nearly every way, including mobility, fuel and ammunition. Their firepower and defense are second only to the Megatank, being able to one shot most lesser ground units provided the target does not have significant defense boosts. Neotanks also have an easier time throwing around their excellent firepower than the Megatank due to their higher movement.

However, Neotanks still have several flaws which prevent them from being the ultimate ground vehicle. While their defense is higher than Medium Tanks, it is marginal at best; they still take significant damage from indirect units and Bombers. Additionally, their vision range is still 1 tile, meaning that they cannot scout for themselves in Fog of War. Medium Tanks are already rather large investments to produce, so the Neotank's additional production cost for minimal benefits outside of additional firepower usually dissuades players from spending more funds on Neotanks over Medium Tanks or other units.

Trivia

  • Before Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, Neotanks of all nations shared a universal design. In the reboot, however, the Neotanks of each nation have their own slight design differences.
