The Land Transport, also called the Troop Carrier, is a cut ground unit from Battalion Wars. It was intended to be an infantry transport akin to the APC from the Advance Wars series, though it would also be armed with a machine gun. Models for the Western Frontier and Xylvanian Land Transports were already created during the game's development, with the Western Frontier's variant appearing in pre-release footage and artwork featured in the Official Nintendo Player's Guide. The Xylvanian Land Transport makes a cameo in a cutscene in Battalion Wars 2.

Icon sprites for both Western Frontier and Xylvanian variants exist in the internal files of the original Battalion Wars.

Trivia

• In the game files and concept art of Battalion Wars, the Land Transport is also referred to as the Heavy Transport (htra); the light counterpart is the Heavy Recon (ltra).
