The enemy stronghold looms ahead. How will Sonja capture it?
— Mission introduction

Show Stopper is the nineteenth mission of the Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising campaign, and the third of the Yellow Comet campaign. Capturing one of the cities reveals a secret map, which unlocks the Black Hole Laboratory mission Sea of Hope.

Background

Kanbei shows his overprotective side as he worries about his daughter’s safety, but after the Yellow Comet forces discover a hidden enemy stronghold, Sonja explains to her father that her intelligence-gathering and reconnaissance skills are better suited to reducing casualties than Kanbei’s more direct approach. Sensei backs her up, telling Kanbei to allow his daughter to demonstrate that she is a respected CO who is worthy of her position.

As the mission begins, Sonja quickly deduces that destroying the eight cannons defending the enemy stronghold or capturing its HQ must be the key to victory. Adder assures her that Black Hole’s superiority will crush Yellow Comet, but he also lets slip that he holds a map leading to a secret Black Hole laboratory.

After the mission ends, Adder escapes while lamenting the loss of the fortress. Sonja’s victory proves to Kanbei that she is perfectly capable of serving as a CO, and he encourages her to continue improving for future battles.
