This mission will explain the Join command and discuss basic strategy.

Unit Repair is the fourth mission of the Advance Wars Field Training.
Apparently Olaf has decided to take Orange Star seriously, but as the other COs are all caught up in other campaigns, it is up to the player to defend Orange Star from him. The current mission is to join up with the units that were waylaid on their way to the Lost Fortress, and to subsequently drive Olaf back and secure the area.
Nell states that Olaf has his bases covered, considering only two tank units have survived of the original contingent that had been sent to the Lost Fortress. However, these units have been damaged and the player is needed to withdraw them first in order to repair them. A turn into the battle it becomes apparent that this is not quick enough, and that the player has to join his or her two tanks. Afterwards Nell will leave the rest of the battle to the player, but does tell the player the area is vital to Orange Star's strategy after obtaining victory. Olaf in turn finally notices Nell is leading the Orange Star forces here, and vows to give a true display of might the next time they meet.
