It's War! is the first mission of the Advance Wars campaign. It is the first mission where the player does not advise Nell, but the rookie Orange Star CO Andy.

Background

Having driven the invading Blue Moon forces away from the capital, the Orange Star army resumes the reclamation of their country, led by the new CO Andy and the advisor, an extension of the player. Before the mission Olaf remarks that it will be easy as Nell is no longer his opponent, resulting in him asking who he was up against following the battle's end. This leads directly to the famous remark made by Andy that Olaf is "Nell's papa", which the latter promptly denies.

The next mission is Gunfighter!.
